Hello! My name is Erin Murphy and I am the Speech-Language Pathologist here at Grand Isle School. I also provide some consultative services in other schools in the district. I received my Masters of Science degree from UVM in Communication Sciences in 2005 and soon after received my Educator License from the State of VT and my Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). I have enjoyed working in this district in various roles, however, since the Fall 2000!
I work with students K-8 in the areas of oral expression, listening comprehension, pragmatics (social language), articulation, oral fluency, voice and hearing. Some students work on goals in their Individual Education Plans (IEPs), while others receive support on sound pronunciation, vocabulary, and social language identified as a need through the Educational Support Team. I provide screening, diagnostic, consultative, and therapeutic services to students. I am also a member of Grand Isle School's PBiS leadership team and have special interests in Augmentative Alternative Communication, Autism Spectrum Disorder and Social Thinking. |
